3D is unique in the UK. it is a pioneering strategic partnership between Doncaster Council and KPMG and DTZ, which brings together the extensive knowledge and network of the local government team, with the strategic insight, financial management and property expertise of the private sector.
3D bridges the gap between the public and private sectors, and can therefore provide a market-led approach to regeneration and project delivery, whilst remaining closely connected with developments in transport infrastructure and spatial planning.
At the core of 3D, therefore, is Doncaster’s desire to engage more effectively with the private sector, and from its original set-up as a ground-breaking delivery mechanism, 3D has continued to adopt and implement innovative partnership arrangements with developers.
What does 3D do?
3D’s primary role is to effectively manage and deliver the Borough’s major transformational projects, which include:
- Doncaster Waterfront
- The Cultural and Civic Quarter
- Lakeside
- The Digital Knowledge Exchange
- Town Moor Racecourse Re-development and
- Lakeside Sports Complex
However, 3D also plays a wider role in facilitating the development and progress of the Borough. Over the past two years, 3D has been responsible for increasing the power supply to key development sites south of the urban centre and securing around £30 million worth of public sector investment, both of which ensure that it is easier for private sector developments to take place within the urban centre.
Likewise, 3D have an important role in advising on and shaping the vision of the Borough, and continues to have a strong focus on economic development and inward investment.
